Knife Care Guide

A Seki knife is built to last a lifetime. Follow these simple care habits to keep your blade performing at its best for decades.

✅ Do This

Always Hand-Wash

Wash with warm water and mild dish soap immediately after use. The high heat and harsh detergents in a dishwasher will damage the blade and handle over time.

Use a Wood or Plastic Board

Avoid glass, ceramic, or stone cutting boards — they dull the blade rapidly. A wood or quality plastic board protects the edge and extends its sharpness.

Dry Immediately After Washing

Even stainless steel can develop surface rust if left wet. Wipe the blade dry with a soft cloth right after washing and store it in a dry place.

❌ Avoid This

  • ✗ Never put in the dishwasher
  • ✗ Do not soak in water for extended periods
  • ✗ Avoid cutting on hard surfaces (glass, ceramic, marble)
  • ✗ Do not use to cut through frozen food or bones
  • ✗ Do not store loose in a drawer — use the Kiri-bako box or a knife guard
